The area surrounding Sedgefield is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Groenvlei Lake is the only freshwater lake in the area and is a popular spot for Bass fishing. It forms part of the Goukamma Nature Reserve and has some of the highest vegetated sand dunes in South Africa.
Sedgefield’s surroundings are a plethora of fynbos, Lakeside, and forest hiking trails that will keep the energetic entertained for hours. Swartvlei is one of the largest lakes in the Sedgefield, providing safe swimming and fishing.
With over 70 mosaic features throughout Sedgefield, the village has also grown into the Mosaic Town of South Africa.
